Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) is focused on providing pleasurable and enriching food education experiences. Run through schools and community groups, the program supports participants through the creation of their own kitchen garden and leads them through the growing, harvesting, preparation and sharing of seasonal produce.
With a nationwide network of participating schools set to more than double over the coming years, SAKGF required the redevelopment of their website to facilitate and drive program delivery and growth over the coming years. As such, their new website had to be developed in line with a highly flexible, progressive, dynamic and forward thinking digital strategy.
The result is a fresh, emotive, inviting and highly functional online resource that users feel comfortable in using, motivated to return to and compelled to interact with. The site caters to the individual needs of a wide user base, channelling them into a fun and compelling experience and motivating them to actively engage with the program. It serves as a centralised communication platform enabling the delivery of timely, accurate and detailed information to program participants and stakeholders.
Key features of the site include:
• Incorporating a range of rich media assets - video, audio, animation - to create a site that is rich, tactile and alive.
• Allowing flexibility for continual development and self-management by Foundation staff through the Flint CMS, facilitating the provision of timely content such as seasonal updates.
• Communicating a fun, child friendly and informed design with the delivery of key messages to a number of unique user groups.
• The creation of an online shop so that users can purchase resources and materials from SAKGF.
• A mailing list form that collates subscriber details into a centralised database for ongoing data management and targeted eDM communications.
• A registration and log in page and the creation of members only content
