Australian Tapestry Workshop

Using the same techniques employed in Europe since the 14th century, the Australian Tapestry Workshop's skilled weavers work in collaboration with artists from Australia and overseas to produce tapestries that are famous for their freshness and vigour, vibrancy of colour, technical accomplishment and inventive interpretation.
The Australian Tapestry Workshop sought to develop a new website with the aim of raising awareness about the workshop — its history, gallery of work and available services. The new and improved website serves as a visually dynamic and informative resource which inspires the user and encourages them to explore the website through a clear and fluid navigation.
The site is a source of information about the artform and the artists, while serving as a powerful marketing tool for the brand, delivering key messages and promoting commercial services such as tapestry commissions and the use of their unique 366 colour palette custom-dyed yarns that gives limitless interpretive options.
The inclusion of e-commerce functionality allows the collection of tapestries to be featured in an online catalogue. With the incorporation of a simple three step purchasing process and secure payment gateway system, the website allows for better accessibility and increased sales.
A key priority for the initial development of the website was the design of a highly flexible yet easy-to-manage CMS framework that supports the update of content and future site development.
Against this backdrop, the site aims to be inviting, visually stunning--reflecting the personality and essence of the workshop--as well as being a highly functional online resource that users feel compelled to interact with, motivated to return to and confident to purchase from.
